THE EZEOCHA POST ANNOUNCES $100 CASH PRIZE AWARD FOR OUR READERS

 

The Ezeocha Post will be celebrating the one-year anniversary of the registration of the domain name www.ezeochapost.com on March 23, 2015. We at Ezeocha Post are proud of and grateful to our followers who visit and comment on our website regularly, share our posts on our Facebook page, and retweet our tweets on Twitter. We appreciate your encouragements and comments, which are very invaluable to the work we do.

As a way of encouraging more debate on the issues we write about, and to commemorate our one-year anniversary, we are announcing a 2-Category $100 Cash Prize Awards to our esteemed readers.

The 1^st Category $100 Cash Prize Award which will go to the person who between today March 02, 2015  and the 19th of March, will provide the most objective comment(s) to each of the essays we have published so far on our blog. Not our Facebook page. And not our Twitter account. Rather, at www.ezeochapost.com. That is to say that if we have published, say 15 essays so far, the person that posts a comment on all 15 essays will win the cash prize. If more than one person meet this criteria, the objectivity of the comment(s), whether the comment to each essay is pertinent to the issues raised on that particular essay, and whether the comment inspired further debate on the issues raised, will be used to determine who the winner will be. The prize will go to only one winner.

Our 2^nd Category $100 Cash Prize Award for our one-year anniversary will go to the person who writes-in the best essay on any of the contemporary challenges facing the international community.

The topic of the essay can be related to

1. The terrorist group, ISIS,
2. The negotiation between the U.S. and Iran to put a brake to Iran’s nuclear weapons program,
3. Israeli-Palestinian crisis,
4. Insecurity in Nigeria,
5. Russia’s territorial ambitions and its aggression in Ukraine,
6. The future of the Eurozone,
7. The challenges facing the continuous existence of one Nigeria after the general election,
8. Poverty,
9. Global distributive injustice, or
10. Income inequalities at the workplace.

This is not an exhaustive list. The subject of the essay can be on any contemporary challenges facing our world. Choice of topic or subject matter is at the discretion of the writer. You should write on something you have information on.  You are expected to discuss the challenge(s) and proffer whatever you think should be the approach to address the challenge(s). There is no word limit.  Participants have to turn in their essays on or before Thursday March 19, 2015.

Our panel of reviewers for both prize categories will sit on Friday, March 20, 2015 and make their decision on who the prizewinners will be.

Name, location, and if the prizewinners wishes to, pictures of the prize winners for both categories will be published on our blog on Monday, March 23, 2015.

We encourage our readers in the United States and around the world to participate in this exercise. We also want to encourage our readers to get their family and friends on board. You never know whom fortune will choose to favor. If not you, at least let it be someone you know. Doesn’t that sound cool?

We have already laid down the rules for the prize award for our 1^st Category $100 Cash Prize Award for the Commenting Contest. The person that posted comment on all the essays we have published so far on our blog will win the cash prize. It is that simple. However, if more than one person meet this criteria, then:

1. The objectivity of the comments,
2. Whether the comment to each essay is pertinent to the issues raised on that particular essay, and
3. Whether the comment inspired further debate on the issues raised;

will be used to determine who the winner will be. The prize will go to only one winner.

On our 2^nd Category $100 Cash Prize Award for the Essay Contest, contestants are to email their completed essays to ezeochapost@gmail.com. On the Subject of the email, they are to enter “ANNIVERSARY ESSAY CONTEST,” and they are expected to provide us with their full name, their country of residence, and a phone number to reach them in order to inform them of their good luck if they happen to be the winner.

All the essays we receive for the contest will be published on our blog and full credit for the authorship will be given to their respective authors, be it the prize winner or otherwise. Therefore, if the authors/contestants wishes to have their picture included alongside their names in the author’s information of their respective essays, we encourage them to attach the pictures with the essay as they email it to us. And we will publish them together.

As is the custom with guest columnists’ information on any media outlet, we are encouraging our contestants to provide us with a brief summary of their career history and their email address or social media contact information so that we can publish them alongside their essays. Someone important, after reading your essay, may be interested in knowing who the author of the essay is.  You never know.

Whatever part of the world the winner(s) for both our 1^st and 2nd Category $100 Cash Prize Awards are located, we will send their prize money to them on the morning of March 23, 2015 through Western Union Money Transfer. Sender’s name will be Jerald Roberson, our Human Resources Manager.
